Frequently Asked Questions

IndyHacks is open to all current high school student in the US.
Hackathons are multi-day events where individuals or teams (hackers) come together to innovative solutions to real world problems (or just fun projects). Beyond that, hackathons are also great opportunities to network with others with a similar passion for tech, participate in workshops to learn new skills, and interact with sponsors to discover new products.
IndyHacks will be held in person at the large gym of Independence High School (629 N Jackson Ave, San Jose, CA 95133).
You may work with up to 3 other people that you'd like as long as they are attending the hackathon with you in person; or you may work individually. If you can't find a team to work with, we will have a team mixer at the beginning for you to meet others and form teams.
Thanks to our generous sponsors, everything at the hackathon will be free for everyone :)
No worries, you don't need any prior experience to attend. The learnathon on Friday is a great opportunity for beginners to get into coding, and during the hackathon itself we will have workshops and mentors to help you.
We will have a dedicated building for sleeping. However, you are responsible for bringing your own sleeping bags or blankets. Note that the overnight segment is only for the hackathon; you go home after the end of the learnathon.
If you have other any questions, comments, or concerns, email us at [email protected].
